About The Gallery
Holy
Houses The Gallery is a showcase of
limited edition, hand signed prints of churches, rich in history and
tradition.
Many of the churches represent the beginning of a community.
The artwork is a unique composition of historic architecture and
dramatic natural settings.
The visual experience draws the viewer to a place of peace and
praise.
About The Mission
Holy Houses The Mission is the
culmination of a vision of churches past and churches future.
This organization was created for the purpose of
funding the construction of mission churches worldwide.
The artwork is intended to remind its viewers of the rich
heritage of faith represented by the church buildings and to encourage
them to continue that heritage. The
proceeds from Holy Houses The Gallery will be used to assist in the
construction or renovation of church buildings in areas where believers
would otherwise have no place to worship.
“One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my
life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His
temple.” Psalm
27:4
About the Churches
Holy Houses is a celebration of the life and history of the body of
Christ – the church. Throughout
history, the church building has been the meeting place of the church
body. Its importance in the
life of the community is evidenced by the fact that some of life’s
most important moments – worship, expressions of faith, baptisms,
weddings, funerals – and various other occasions and events take place
in the church building. Many
times the structures also served as a schoolhouse or town hall.
Viewing these images revives interest in the history of the
churches and the heritage of the people they represent.
With each print comes a brief story centered on the community of
believers and their church.
“I love the house where you live, O Lord, the
place where your glory dwells.” Psalm
26:8
About Series 1
This
first collection of prints is the culmination of research and travel
over the past year.
It started with The Mission, then began to come to reality as
over 100 churches in Texas were researched.
Throughout the year, day trips were taken to 50 of the churches
and from these site visits, 25 churches were photographed, with 12 being
selected for Series 1.
